Ghost walkin' and chick kickin'

The chill of fall and spooky fun awaits this weekend.  If you're ready to feel the spirit of the halloween season, I dare you to..........

GO FOR A GHOST WALK!

@ historic Mt. Hope Cemetary.  Join the scary Ghost Walk at Mt. Hope Ave. and Resevoir Rd Fri. night at 7:30p.  Mt. Hope is a beautiful, yet mysterious place to peruse, and what better time to feel the spirits amongst the vast area near the U of R campus.  Out in Victor, bring the kids to the Jack O' Lantern Walk on Auburn Trail off School St. Sat. from 7p-8p.

TAKE A 40 MINUTE HAYRIDE TO HELL!

@ the Verhulst Haunted Hayride in Spencerport.  When the sun goes down tonight, the goblins awake in the fields on Ridge Rd.  When the ride ends, the Haunted Maze awaits.  Not recommended for the very young or faint of heart.

GET YOUR KICKS AT COBBS HILL PARK!

Sat. afternoon the Badge of Honor Association, a not-for-profit group of law enforcement pros, hosts "Kicks n Chicks". It's a fundraiser to support families of fallen police officers across western NY.  BOHA just won a battle with NYS and the DOT to erect tribute signs on local highways in memory of officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice.  Sen. Joe Robach led the fight, and this fun event will raise more moey to fund the effort.  Costumed kickballers will play at Cobbs Hill and the public is invited to join for a chicken BBQ and family fun.  Get the 411 at www.badgeofhonorassociation.org

SECTION V GIRLS GET THEIR KICKS ON!

@ Webster Thomas Fri. night at 6p.  #1 Thomas hosts #2 Schroeder in the soccer battle for bragging rights in Webster as the regular season wraps up before sectionals kick in next week.   Keep an eye on the Warriors Sarah LeFrois, ready to make her mom Sheri proud!

GET A TRUCK AND GRUB ON!

@ O'Connor Chevy, just down the street on W. Henrietta Rd. My bud Mark O'Connor invites you to the O'ConnorFest and Tailgate Party.  Sat. from 9a-5p there's beer tasting and lots of sausage, hots and burgers on the grill.  Sun. check out live music and a chicken BBQ from 10a-4p.

GET YOUR FASHION ON!

@ the Memorial Art Gallery.  Fashion Week continues Sat. night as Tommy Lee (from Motley Crue and Pamela Anderson's video memories) hosts a fundraiser for the Center For Youth and the Humane Society.  Proceeds of sales of local philanthropist Greg Polisseni's new designer jean fashion line will help to fund the cause.

SUPPORT THE LAST WKND. OF HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL!

Section V's regular season winds down with plenty of action.  Friday nights games include: East at Brockport, HF-L @ Livonia, Notre Dame of Batavia at Attica, Leroy at Cal-Mum and Spencerprt at Churchville-Chili at 7p.  Dress for the weather and take in a game Saturday as Greece Arcadia hosts Brighton, Canandaigua travels north to Eastridge and Pittsford squares off with Rush Henrietta.

WATCH THE ZOMBIES RULE SUNDAY NIGHT!

"Walking Dead" is a proper term for halloween, and the zombies have drawn in more viewers than ever on AMC.  Tune in Sun. night and see what RIck Grimes, Darryl and Carol have up their sleeves for the probable return of the Governor.  Does anyone ever smile on that show?
