The weather seems to have cooperated perfectly to set up this weekend's start for outdoor fun and hockey at Frontier Field. The Frozen Frontier Festival kicks off Fri. night as the Rochester Americans skate outside vs. the Lake Erie Monsters at 7:05. So many people will be at the game that only standing room only tickets remain. This starts up 10 days of winter fun at the downtown stadium where we normally cheer on the Red Wings in much warmer weather.
RTS is offering fans rides to the Frozen Frontier for $1. Here are routes that have been added to the regular RTS Frontier Field buses:
--route 20 from Brockport
--route 3 from Lyell Ave.
--route 1 from Lake Ave.
--route 10 from Dewey Ave.
--route 14 from Ridge Rd.
--route 15 from Latta Rd.
--route 96 from Hilton and Hamlin
Lot parking at Frontier will be tight so it's much easier to take the direct bus ride. Buses will drop off fans next to the stadium and return from that location, all for just a buck a ride. More details at www.rgrta.com.
There will be plenty of outdoor hockey action all wknd., including RIT taking on Niagara Sat. at 7:05p and the Buffalo Sabres alumni skating and trash talking the Amerks alumni Sun. at 5pm. Hockey, hockey, hockey!
