Vampire Weekend has a new title - Best Act in the World Today. The indie rockers earned the honor Monday at this year's Q Awards, beating out fellow nominees Arctic Monkeys, Foals, Biffy Clyro, and David Bowie.

Arctic Monkeys had better luck in the Best Track category, where their hit "Do I Wanna Know?" came out on top.

Likewise, Foals won the Best Live Act Award, and Biffy Clyro nabbed the trophy for Best Album thanks to their latest effort, "Opposites."

But Bowie, who went into the event with six nominations, walked away empty-handed.

Daft Punk also came up short.  Their ubiquitous single "Get Lucky" helped them earn three nods, including Best Video.  But they lost that award to the Manic Street Preachers' clip for "Show Me the Wonder."

This year's ceremony also featured a few lifetime achievement awards.  Suede was named the Q Icon, while the Pretenders' Chrissie Hynde was named the Q Classic Songwriter.
