Muse inadvertently led residents in Coventry, England to believe that their local stadium had gone up in flames this week. The Brit rockers have become known for using elaborate special effects in their shows, and on Monday they were testing the pyrotechnics for an upcoming show at Coventry's Ricoh Arena.
But some onlookers mistook the fire and smoke for a serious problem, and began posting their concerns on Twitter and Facebook. "NME" says the Ricoh Arena was a trending topic at one point, forcing officials to release their own tweet explaining that there was no fire.
Muse are scheduled to perform at the stadium Wednesday night as part of a short string of U.K. tour dates behind last year's album, The 2nd Law.
