Broken Bells are doing their part to protect the planet from hazardous asteroids. Space.com says the indie rockers are donating one-dollar from every ticket sold on their upcoming West Coast tour to the B612 Foundation's Sentinel mission.
The Sentinel Space Telescope is designed to seek out "dangerous near-Earth asteroids," and is expected to launch in 2018. Broken Bells' latest outing, meanwhile, is set to launch April 10th with a show in Tempe, Arizona.
Along the way James Mercer and Danger Mouse will play both Coachella weekends in Indio, California, and their Los Angeles gig on April 15th will be followed by a B612 aftershow featuring special guests and telescopes set up by NASA astronomers.
