Arctic Monkeys defend Rock and Roll at Brit Awards

The Arctic Monkeys are standing up for rock and roll.  The Indie foursome was a big winner at the 2014 Brit Awards in London Wednesday.  The group picked up the top honor of Best Album for AM, with group frontman Alex Turner delivering a passionate defense of rock music during the group's acceptance speech. 

In closing his speech Turner said "you can invoice me for the mic" then let the microphone he was holding drop to the stage. 

The Arctic Monkeys also picked up a Brit Award for Best British Group. 

Other winners included David Bowie for British Male Solo Artist, Ellie Goulding for British Female Solo Artist, Bastille for British Breakthrough Act, and Lorde and Bruno Mars for Best International Female and Male Solo Artist, respectively. 

The Brit Awards were held at London's O2 Arena.
