Arcade Fire have quietly announced the release date for the follow-up to their Grammy-winning 2010 effort, The Suburbs. The Canadian rockers took to Twitter Friday to respond to a fan who called them his favorite.
In addition to a simple "thanks," the band's response also included the news that their new album will be out on October 29th. They posted a picture as well, although it's unclear whether it will be the still-untitled record's final cover art.
Arcade Fire have been working on the new album for a while now, most recently meeting up with producer and former LCD Soundsystem leader James Murphy at DFA Records' studio in New York City. Murphy said he thinks the band has come up with a "really great record."
