Teens arrested for vacation home breakins

Two Western New York teenagers are under arrest for a string of breakins at summer homes in Livingston County.

The Livingston County Sheriffs Office said James Erb of Castile and Tyler Carpenter of Portageville were arrested on burglary charges. A third suspect was identified as a juvenile and handed over to his parents.

Undersheriff Jim Sczesniak said the teens were targeting seasonal homes in remote areas, stealing guns, ammunition, hunting gear and motorcycles. Much of the stolen property was recovered.
