In one of the first of what will be many solemn observances this weekend, the Postal Service is taking time today to honor the nation's fallen military men and women.
A 3 p.m. wreath laying is planned for the flag pole outside the Rochester Processing and Distribution Center on Jefferson Road.
The Postal Service says it is one of the biggest civilian employees of veterans. Nearly are third of all postal workers have served in the military.
Spokeswoman Karen Mazurkiewicz says postal workers from our area who are currently serving overseas won't lose thier jobs while they're away.
