Rochester Police Name Those Killed, Injured, in Wrong-Way Crash

Rochester, NY -- Rochester police have released the names of those killed and injured in a wrong-way crash late Friday night at the intersection of Dewey Avenue and Albemarle Street.

Police say Yevette Ebanks, 35, from Rochester was driving a rented car and passing cars at a high speed, on the wrong side of a snowy road, in a reckless manner. The car collided with a northbound car. Ebanks was killed, and her 15-year-old nephew, Jonah Barley, remains in intensive care. A 2-year-old Rochester boy in the second vehicle, David Figeroa, was killed, and his mother, Desiree Lowe, 35, suffered minor injuries.

Authorities say Ebanks was suspected of stealing merchandise from a Greece Walmart a short time earlier. Greece police say an officer had already broken off a pursuit before the crash.
