Greece, NY -- The Greece Central School District says testing results show no environmental problems in the fields behind Greece Arcadia High School.
The district hired an independent firm to do soil samples from the green space behind the Arcadia track and football field after learning that construction debris might have been buried there more than 20 years ago.
The firm of Haley and Aldrich made test excavations and tested the samples. They found no indication of asbestos or any other hazardous materials. They did find concrete, metal scrap, brick, asphalt and other common construction materials which are not considered to be a hazard to students.
The district says the report is available for review at its offices.
