McFadden says Richards forgot face-to-face campaigning in primary loss

Rochester, NY -- Rochester City Councilman Adam McFadden is weighing in on Lovely Warren's victory in the Democratic mayoral primary over Tom Richards.

He tells WHAM 1180's Bob Lonsberry that Warren beat Richards at retail politics -- meeting voters face-to-face -- and that made the difference. He says the conventional wisdom about fundraising and endorsements was wrong.

McFadden says Richards was beaten so badly he shouldn't actively campaign this fall as a minor party candidate. Richards will appear on the ballot as the nominee of the Independence and Working Families parties.

And McFadden says polls showing Richards with a big lead appear to have been designed to benefit Richards, by trying to discourage Warren supporters.
