Legally blind woman struck and killed by train

Rochester, NY -- Family members say a woman's death on the railroad tracks in Rochester could have been prevented.

13 WHAM reports Patsy Hickman was legally blind and was killed when she was struck by a train as she crossed the tracks near Colvin Street on Sunday.

Her son, Harris Hickman, tells the station his mother crossed the tracks several times a day to get to a store. He says there should be a pedestrian crossing or a guard rail there.

13 WHAM reports there is a no trespassing sign in the area, but nothing else to keep people away from the tracks.
