Ex-cop sues Rochester police officials

Rochester, NY -- The mayor and Rochester's two top cops are being blamed for blackballing a former city cop.

Sam Farina was the former deputy police chief of operations for the city before his demotion in 2010. He claims in a lawsuit he was later asked to resign over the combination of a property dispute with an ex-girlfriend and after the 2011 arrest of community activist Emily Good, and the tageting of her associates by officers.

Additionally, the lawsuit alleges that the mayor blocked Farina from being given a job with the 9-1-1 center.

Calls to City Hall and Farina's attorney seeking comment were not immediately returned.
