Rochester, NY -- The historic Carousel at Ontario Beach Park in Charlotte has been repaired and is now re-opened to the public.
The 108-year old carousel had been out of action for about for weeks because of a broken original cast iron gear. A replacement gear was located in Southern California and shipped to Rochester. The replacement is also a cast iron original, which was salvaged from a carousel of the same vintage.
The carousel is open seven days a week through Labor Day, then just Saturdays and Sundays through mid-October and the Columbus Day holiday.
