Brighton unveils plans for bicentennial

Brighton, NY -- The Town of Brighton is unveiling plans for its year-long bicentennial celebration.

The Town held its first town board meeting April 5, 1814 at what it now known as the Stone-Tolan House on East Avenue. A re-enactment is planned for April.

Other highlights for what's billed as "Brighton200"- include a Bicentennial Community Picnic in June, a Canal Day Celebration in August and a Harvest Celebration next fall.

Town officials on Sunday unveiled the bicentennial logo and website -- brighton200.org
