Black Churches in Rochester to Host Youth Violence Summit

Rochester, NY -- Rochester's black churches are hosting a summit on how to reduce youth violence.

The Reverend Lewis Stewart says panelists will look at several aspects of what he calls a complex problem -- including the racial component. He says many perpetrators are black, and many of the victims are black, and he says community leaders most form partnerships and pull together to reduce what he calls a "cancer."

The summit is set for 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday at the First Church of God on Clarissa Street.
